Questions
Can my phone run the AI?
The recap narrative uses the AI model provided by Android (Gemini Nano), found on recent phones: Pixels from the Pixel 9 onwards, and many recent high-end models from Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi or Honor. Aparté tells you as soon as you turn it on whether yours is supported. If not, everything else works, statistical recaps included, and voice transcription can use Whisper. On iPhone, the narrative uses Apple Intelligence, on iPhone 15 Pro and newer models.
Does the AI send my journal anywhere?
No. It runs on your phone, and it's off by default. You can check for yourself: in airplane mode, regenerate a recap, and it still gets written.
What if I lose my phone?
Make a backup (photos and memos included) and keep it wherever you like. It restores on another phone, with your password or your recovery phrase.
What if I forget my password?
Your 12-word recovery phrase replaces it. Without both, nobody can reopen your journal, including us: that's the price of a journal nobody else can read.
Why a paid app?
Because you're not the product: no ads, no account, no subscription, no data to sell. You pay once, AI included.
